Cape Verde is a small island nation which is moving ahead economically, judging from its GNI per capita increasing from US $ 1870 in 2006 to US $ 3160 in 2011.
Its ranking in the WB Doing Business report has improved from 125th in 2007 to 119th in 2012.
The government has taken steps to ameliorate the business environment: e.g. in 2006 it would take 12 procedures and 52 days to start a business, but in 2011 only 8 procedures and 11 days.
At this moment no activities are being undertaken between DECP and the employers’ associations of Cape Verde.
