Eritrea is a low income Sub-Saharan country facing multiple economic, social and political problems. Only very limited attention seems to have been paid to improving the business climate: e.g. starting a business would take 91 days in 2005 and 84 in 2010.
Eritrea’s WB Doing Business ranking declined from 137th in 2006 to 180th in 2011.
Eritrea’s GNI per capita went from US $ 180 in 2005 to US $ 363 in 2010.
Given Eritrea’s extreme economic, social and political problems, no activities are currently being undertaken between DECP and Eritrean employers’ organisations.
