Mozambique

Mozambique is a least-developed country (LDC) facing a range of social and economic problems. Its GNI per capita increased from 250 US $ in 2005 to 440 US $ in 2010.
The government has tried to improve the business environment: while in 2005 starting a business would take 14 procedures and 153 days, those figures were 9 procedures and 13 days respectively in 2010. Nevertheless, Mozambique’s ranking in the Doing Business report dropped from 110th in 2006 to 126th in 2011.
In consultation with the Netherlands’ Embassy DECP is currently trying to establish contacts with relevant employers’ organisations.
