Sudan

Sudan is a low income Sub-Saharan country that has seen its GNI per capita rise from 530 US $ in 2005 to 1,982 US $ in 2012. Government involvement in the economy is substantial and reform of the business environment is slow. The one noteworthy exception is registering property which requires only 6 procedures and takes no more than 9 days.
Sudan’s WB Doing Business ranking has improved from 151st place in 2006 to 143rd in 2012.
Sudanese employers’ national and international interests are being represented by the Sudanese Business and Employers Federation (SBEF), member of the International Organisation of Employers.

Currently no activities are being undertaken between DECP and the SBEF.
