Bosnia-Herzegovina

Bosnia-Herzegovina is a young country and the state-level government has limited powers as far as social and economic affairs are concerned. Neither the state-level nor the entity level governments seem to consider improving the business climate an important objective. E.g. in 2005 getting a contract enforced would take 36 procedures and 330 days, but in 2011 it would take 37 procedures and 595 days.
The country’s overall ranking in the WB Doing Business report has dropped from 87th in 2006 to 125th in 2012.

Employers’ interests are being represented by the Association of Employers of Bosnia-Herzegovina (APBiH). Because of the importance of the entities, DECP has contacted the APBiH operating at the state level as well as its entities’ members, the UPFBiH and the ECRS.
