A first step towards bridging the Knowledge and Skills Gap in developing countries

Skills Development has been identified by Employers’ Organisations as a very important condition for economic growth. At the same time the educational landscape is difficult to analyze. Access, quality, Vocational Education and Training, brain drain and lifelong learning are all part of it. DECP is developing a framework and tools to support Employers’ Organisations to draw up a strategy and concrete action plans on Skills Development.

The Maastricht University developed a self-assessment tool for this purpose as one of the building blocks based on scientific research, interviews and questionnaires with representatives of Employers' Organisations, likeminded organisations ans Trade Unions. The report is open source and now available on our website.
