Support from DECP focusses on strengthening and promoting the growth of the partner organisation. It is important that the objective of the partner organisations is to improve the business climate and that they are independent of government, party politics and trade union movement.Products offered by DECP include:
- training programmes and workshops about:
- governance and structure of Employers' Organisations (strategy, board and committees, finances, staff)
- services to members (why services, issues to consider, assessment and feasibility study, examples)
- revenue building by EO's (different types of revenues, membership fees, 7 steps to paid services)
- attracting and keeping members (strategy, tools, membership fees)
- lobbying (process of lobbying, tools, effectiveness and behaviour)
- communication (making a newsletter, setting up a website, exercises with giving a press conference and inteview techniques)
- strategic planning (mission, internal and external analysis, strategic objectives and lobby priorities)
- train-the-trainer courses on (collective) bargaining with the trade unions, Occupational Safety and Health, start your own business

If so desired, a survey or benchmark of the organisation may be part of the advice.
- basic training programme "The effective and efficient Employers' Organisation" in cooperation with the International Training Centre ITC of the ILO.
DECP, in cooperation with ITC/ILO in Turin offers a basic training programme for Employers' Organisations with the following modules: good governance, strategy, lobby, membership and income.
- financing projects.
In special circumstances DECP is willing to finance small projects which promote the effectiveness of the EO, e.g. publication of a news bulletin or brochures.
