A national policy event on the Training Levy

The DECP undertook one of its regular missions to the Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) from 4-5 March 2013. The main objective of the mission was to take forward the work on the proposal to hold a national policy event in May 2013 on the implementation of a “Training Levy”. This event was to be held in order to both inform employers in Uganda of the introduction of the levy as well as to seek their views on how the levy should be implemented.

The mission also provided the opportunity for the DECP to discuss the proposal to hold Regional Membership events which would promote the work of the FUE not only to its current membership but also to potential members. It is envisaged that these events will be held in the second half of 2013 in each of the FUE regions.
