Advisory mission to Federation of Uganda Employers
On February 26th 2009, Country manager Andrew Moore was invited by the FUE to attend the FUE Annual Employer of the Year Award as a guest. This is a major event in the FUE calendar and an excellent opportunity for members to meet and network.
The event was attended by some 300 members. Awards are made in a number of categories with the major one being the “Employer of the Year” which this year was awarded to MTN, the major mobile telephone company in Uganda.
As a representative of DECP, Andrew Moore was asked to present one of the awards.
The following day was spent at the offices of the FUE, discussing current and future matters with the staff. For 2009 FUE has requested DECP's support for development of the regions. They are currently active in three regions and they feel that improvement can be made in supporting them in their day-to-day work.
Andrew Moore agreed that during his next visit he will travel to the FUE Western region and meet a number of members.
