On May 10th and 11th the DECP both facilitated and supported financially a brain storming meeting of the members of the ACE (ASEAN Confederation of Employers).
The meeting provided the opportunity for members of ACE to discuss in detail how they wanted to see their organisation develop so that it was in a position to make sure that the voice of employers across the ASEAN region could be heard loud and clear.
Resulting from the meeting ACE members agreed on a number of actions including how they could communicate more effectively amongst themselves and with other relevant organisations. The recruitment of the four countries within ASEAN but not in ACE membership was also discussed as well as some form of associate membership for major employers in the region.
The possibility of the members of ACE sharing best practice as employers organisations was also explored during the course of the meeting.
