CNP-Togo publishes two practical guides

Due to the Corona-crisis, DECP experts are not allowed to travel. This does not mean that DECP is paralyzed. In the contrary! The combination of advice on distance and financial support with the aim to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on the private sector turns out to be very effective. Until now, more then two third of the DECP partners took advantage of this opportunity and are working on concrete actions to inform and advice their members, to lobby and advocate towards the government -often together with trade unions- and to develop webinars and distance training programmes.

On September 3, Mr. Laurent TAMEGNON, the president of the Togolese employers’ organisation CNP-TOGO (Conseil National du Patronat du Togo) handed over two practical guides to representatives of the 21 affiliated economic sectors. One guide is focussing on safety at work during Corona times, the other is a Business Continuity Plan based on the famous publication of the ILO early April, and adjusted to the country specific needs. The national press was extensively present which resulted in several fascinating radio and TV reports.

‘These guides are meant to offer practical tips on how to manage safety and how to deal with the consequences of the pandemic’, Mr. TAMEGNON declared. The guides are distributed among more than 1.000 companies and the entrepreneurs have expressed their great appreciation. Next step will be to guide the implementation and share experiences.

DECP will support follow up actions as part of the special measures in the context of the Corona-crisis to be taken before the end of 2020.
