Enhancing the effectiveness of South Asia employers organisations

 On 2 and 3 October 2012  the Employers Organisations of South Asia (SAFE) met in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The meeting was supported by ITC/ILO and DECP and focused on The Future of South Asian Employers organizations . High level representatives of Afghanistan , Bangla Desh , India , Nepal , Pakistan and Sri Lanka participated.

Participants reviewed the effects of globalisation on the South Asian economies and exchanged good practices in the  fields of influencing government policies. The participants also shared information on membership issues and pledged to exchange  information thereon using the common website. www.safe.org.lk

Participants agreed that the SAFE members will meet again in October next year. The meeting was moderated by Arnout de Koster of ITC/ILO , Gota Dasanayaka of ILO Colombo and Jan Karel Bout of DECP.
