The EAEO's Technical Committee meets in Zanzibar

A meeting of the technical Committee of the East African Employers Organisation (EAEO) took place in Zanzibar on Friday 24 July 2015.

The meeting was attended by representatives from all the member countries Kenya/Tanzania/Rwanda/Uganda/Burundi/Zanzibar.

The meeting provided the opportunity to discuss in some detail the progress that had been made in making the EAEO more visible at an East African Community (EAC) level which included the application by the EAEO for Observer Status with the EAC. Such status would give employers much greater access to meetings and documentation.

The meeting also provided the opportunity for discussion on how the EAEO would move from the funding it currently receives from the DECP to that of the NHO at the end of 2015. It was agreed at the end that a meeting of the Executive Committee of the EAEO should be held in September.
