Training programme for Indonesian regional EO's

From June 25 till 28 DECP organised, together with the ILO training centre from Turin, a  four day training for the Employers Association of Indonesia APINDO in Jakarta. The training session was opened with speeches from the Dutch ambassador, Mr Nikolaos van Dam, IOE Deputy secretary general Brent Wilton, ILO Director Indonesia Alan Boulton, ILO Turin representative Arnout de Koster, the representative for the Minister for Manpower, Mr Masri Hasyar, the APINDO Chairman Sofjan Wanandi and DECP Director Jan Karel Bout.

The training for the 84 representatives of the regional APINDO organisations (divided into 3 groups) concentrated on items of relevance for an effective and efficient employers' organisation. The trainers from nine countries taught about lobbying, strategic planning, communication, services for members and governance items. At the end of the workshop the plans of the respective regions for the future were discussed. It was felt that the training was very successful and it will have a follow up next year.
