Visit to AEB and AFAB in Burundi

From 12 to 15 May, J.M. Standaert, special advisor DECP, visited AEB and AFAB in Bujumbura, Burundi. 

AEB, the Association of Employers of Burundi, had organised an important Round Table on  21st April, at which the leaders of the main political parties of Burundi were invited.  

The purpose of the Round Table was to present the Memorandum of the Employers to the political parties in view of the upcoming important local and national elections. All the largest political parties were present, as well as the main media channels. 

All participants requested to repeat such an event as it provided useful and interesting suggestions for the development of the economy of Burundi. 

Due to the ash-clouds in April, DECP could not attend the Round Table itself and the aim of the visit in May was to examine a follow-up with the staff of AEB.
