Workshop on social security held at SEC, Workshop on social security held at SEC, Suriname

Via  its  Surinam  partner  VSB  (Vereniging  Surinaams  Bedrijfsleven)  DECP  was  asked  to conduct  a  workshop  on  national  social  security  for members  and  deputy  members  of  the Social Economic Council of Suriname, in which VSB is one of the major participants.  This workshop took place from March 29 – 31st, 2010. 

The  SEC  had  taken  the  initiative  to  advise  the  Government  on  the  preparation  of  a comprehensive social security system. Such a system is not yet in place in Suriname.  

The  workshop  presented  the  SEC  with  views  and  insights  on  the  subject  that  most  certainly did  not  make  their  initiative  any  easier,  basically resembles  some  kind  of  mechanical  clockwork  one  can  take  apart  and  put  together  again without   affecting   society   –   in   wanted   and   foreseeable   as   well   as  in  unwanted   and unforeseeable ways.
