A workshop on strengthening the Apindo regions

On 23 and 24 April 2015 DECP special advisor Rogier CHORUS, together with Board members Harijanto and Hilman and Executive Director Pambudhi of APINDO held a seminar on supporting the APINDO regions. 20 members from the provinces Banten, West-Java and  Jakarta attended the seminar that was a try-out for 4 future seminars in the region. Core element for discussion was the APINDO economic roadmap 2014 – 2019. This excellent business agenda is a yardstick for assessing the new Indonesian government’s policies. At the meeting the Roadmap received strong support from the APINDO regions that were represented.

The seminar was also instrumental in listing regional priorities. We also discussed ways to improve communication between the APINDO central organisation and its regional associations. Thus the central and regional levels will reinforce each other. This is of great relevance, given the size and degree of decentralisation of the Indonesian archipelago.

The format used at this seminar will also apply to 4 subsequent regional meetings that APINDO will organise across Indonesia, with support from DECP.
