Advisory mission to Nicaragua and signing of Partnership agreement

DECP signed a Partnership Agreement with the CONSEJO SUPERIOR DE LA EMPRESA PRIVADA (COSEP), the umbrella employers' organisation in Nicaragua and the CAMARA DE INDUSTRIAS DE NICARAGUA (CADIN) on the Annual Meeting of CADIN on the 12th of February 2009.

The Dutch Ambassador Lambert Grijns was present at the signing ceremony. He also held a speech at the Annual Meeting in which he expressed the willingness of the Embassy to cooperate with the employers' organisations in Nicaragua.

An important part of this PA are a number of advisory projects, both for COSEP and CADIN. Immediately after the Annual Meeting DECP held discussions with CADIN to set up a strategic plan. Training programmes on lobbying and communication, also mentioned in the PA, will probably be held at the end of 2009.

DECP also made a quick scan of CADIN and COSEP, in close cooperation with both organisations.
