The Ethiopian Employers Federation (EEF) celebrated its 60th anniversary in Addis Ababa on January 16 and 17. The meeting’s theme was “Employer : Entrepreneur and Engine of Growth“. More than 500 members and guests attended the celebrations in the Main Conference Hall of the Economic Commission for Africa. The Prime Minister of Ethiopia Ato Haile Mariam Desalgne presented the official opening statement. In his speech the Prime Minister emphasized the important role employers have to play in investment and job creation. He stated the willingness of the government to cooperate with the employers organizations in the country.
DECP’s Jan Karel Bout was one of six invited keynote speakers. In his address he sketched five important success factors for the further development of business and employers organizations. The anniversary meeting was felt to be a success.
