Association for Labour starts functioning

The bipartite platform for social dialogue in Peru Asociación para el Trabajo has started its activities. The trade union central Confederación General de Trabajadores del Perú (CGTP) and the employers’ organisation Sociedad Nacional de Industrias (SNI) came together to discuss topics of mutual interest. Workers and employers want to start to talk about three topics; the informal economy, the Peruvian health system and organisational health and safety.

The Association for Labour is now looking for a an office and a director and secretary. A commission is formed to study means to generate stable resources for the Association. Mondiaal FNV and DECP will subsidize part of the costs during the first two years.
