The DECP undertook a two day advisory mission to the Employers' Federation of Pakistan (EFP) on 12 and 13 September 2019. The mission provided the opportunity for the DECP to discuss the progress being made with the EFP Membership Survey. The EFP had recruited the services of five interns who had each been allocated some 100 members and potential members. The interns had been tasked with establishing what employers thought of the work of EFP and its relevance to their business. The outcome of the survey would be ready in October in time to report to the EFP Annual General Meeting in November.

Elections to the Board of the EFP will take place at the end of December 2019 and the new Board and President will be in place in January 2020. The DECP discussed the possibility of providing both technical and financial support for a two day Board retreat to be held on the outskirts of Karachi. The retreat will discuss the outcome of the Membership Survey as well as setting out a strategic plan for the period 2020-2022.

The mission also provided the opportunity for the DECP to discuss forthcoming events for the meetings of South Asian Forum of Employers (SAFE) of which the President of the EFP is also President of SAFE.
