The Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) held a Board Retreat in Lahore 22 & 23 February 2018. The retreat was financed and facilitated by DECP and provided the opportunity for the Board and secretariat members to discuss the progress they had made over the last twelve months and to look to future developments.

Board members agreed that a considerable amount of progress had been made during 2017 with an increase of some 11% in membership as well a significant increase in income. These developments provided the ideal platform for the EFP to continue to develop its services to its members such as legal support and training. The EFP set itself the target of achieving a membership of 1000 within the next two years and to have an annual turnover of some 50 million PKR.

The visit to Lahore by the EFP Board also provided the opportunity for the EFP to formally open its branch office in Lahore. This office will be hosted by Haroon Dugal Law Chambers. The EFP plans to open other regional offices.

The EFP has owned a piece of land in the Clifton area of Karachi and has recently signed an agreement with a developer for the construction of the new EFP offices by the end of 2019.
The Board also visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) during which it launched its “Pakistan’s National Business Agenda 2018 -23” which set out its key policy objectives. The EFP also signed an MOU with the LCCI.
