The future development of the East African Employers Organisation (EAEO) was the main issue for discussion at two meetings of the Executive Committee of the EAEO held in Geneva on 1 June 2014 and in Nairobi on 26 August 2014.

A key issue addressed was the process for the appointment of a new EAEO Coordinator resulting from the termination of the previous incumbent in April. It was suggested that the work could be undertaken by existing staff within the member organisations with support by the appointment of interns.

It was agreed at the meeting that the preparation of an EAEO Business Agenda setting out the key issues to be addressed at an East African Community level would provide the organisation with a focal point and a clear agenda.

The Chairmanship of the EAEO was passed from Jacqueline Mugo the Executive Director of the Federation of Kenyan Employers to Rosemary Ssenabulya the Executive Director of the Federation of Uganda Employers.
