Workshops on Communication in Nicaragua
DECP gave a workshop on Communication and image building for the umbrella employers’ organisation COSEP and its members in Managua, Nicaragua, on 16th and 17th of November.
The workshop was split into two parts: one for board members and CEO’s which concentrated more on strategic issues and one for the communication experts of the COSEP members. This latter workshop concentrated on the techniques of communication. Effective communication is extremely important in Nicaragua because of the uncomfortable relation with the Ortega government.
The communication expert of DECP, Peter Boorsma, presented a number of challenging propositions for the communication experts, which led to a lively discussion among the participants. In the afternoon they practiced on press releases and press conferences.
DECP also advised COSEP on their strategic plan and communication strategy. Furthermore, possible projects for 2010 were discussed.
During the visit a meeting was arranged with the Cámara de Industria of Nicaragua as well as with the Dutch Embassy.
